Every day has 3 goals: your daily core (the same every day), Task 2 and Task 3, each with a short why. Open a day to read all three.
Daily core Today's version of the daily core
Pick a book and read your first section
Choose any book you already own, can borrow or can read or listen to free (some options are a library app, a free community shelf or a public domain ebook site). If it does not hold you after a few days, you can swap it. Read about ten pages or listen for about 15 minutes, and mark where you stopped with a bookmark or sticky note.
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Start your Reading log
Use a notebook or a notes page and title it Reading log. Write today's date, the book, the pages or minutes you covered and one line on what the first section was about. Every later task that mentions your Reading log means this page.
Why: One place for your notes means every later task knows exactly where to look.
Task 3
Write what you expect from this book
After your first section, write two or three lines in your Reading log: why you picked this book, what you expect from it and one thing in the first pages that made you curious or doubtful.
Why: Writing a first impression gives you something to check your later reading against.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Summarize the section in three sentences
Right after reading, write three sentences on what happened or what the author argued in today's section. Label it Day 2 summary in your Reading log; you will compare against it on Day 25.
Why: A short summary shows what you took in and gives you an honest starting point to look back on.
Task 3
Copy a line that stood out
Go back into today's section and find one line that caught your attention. Copy it into your Reading log with the page number, then write one sentence on why it caught you.
Why: Choosing a line sends you back through the section with a sharper eye.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Write three questions about the section
Write three questions today's section left you with: something you did not understand, something you want to know next and something you would ask the author. Keep them in your Reading log. Mark the spots with sticky notes or slips of paper; never write in a borrowed book.
Why: Questions turn you into an active reader who knows what to look for.
Task 3
Investigate one of your questions
Pick one of your three questions and look back through today's section, or the pages just before it, for anything that answers it or hints at an answer. Write what you found in two lines, or note that the book has not answered it yet.
Why: Going back for evidence trains you to check the text instead of guessing.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Check one detail you were unsure of
Think of one detail in today's section you were unsure about: a name, a date, a step in an argument or what a word meant. Reread that passage and write the correct detail in your Reading log in one line.
Why: Clearing up one fuzzy spot right away keeps small confusions from piling up.
Task 3
Find a line that sounds like this writer
Copy one sentence from today's section that sounds most like this particular writer, with the page number, and write one line on what makes it sound that way.
Why: Noticing a writer's voice helps you enjoy how a book is written, not only what it says.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Respond to the section in one paragraph
Write one paragraph (four to six sentences) in your Reading log on what you think of today's section: what worked for you, what did not and why. Use at least one specific moment or point from the pages.
Why: Writing your reaction helps you notice what you think, not just what happened.
Task 3
Find a line that supports your reaction
Find one line in today's section that backs up what you wrote in your paragraph. Copy it under your paragraph with the page number.
Why: Tying an opinion to the text makes your thinking clearer and easier to remember.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Look up one new word or reference
Find one word, name or reference in today's section you do not know well. Look it up in a dictionary or a trusted reference and write its meaning in your own words in your Reading log, with the page number.
Why: One clear meaning at a time quietly grows your vocabulary and makes the next pages easier.
Task 3
Write a sentence with your new word
Write one sentence of your own that uses the word or reference you looked up, about something in your own life.
Why: Using a word yourself is how it moves from the page into your everyday vocabulary.
Daily core Same every day
Read or listen to a manageable section
Why: A small, steady section keeps your book moving and gives your other two tasks fresh material to work with.
Task 2
Note what made reading easy this week
Easy day. Look over your first week of Reading log entries and write one line: which section was easiest to read and what helped, such as the time, the place or the book.
Why: Noticing what helped makes next week's reading easier to repeat.
Task 3
Mark one moment from the section to remember
Write one moment or point from today's section in a single line in your Reading log, with the page number.
Why: A single line is enough to hold on to a section on an easy day.

How Read 100 works
What you do each day
3 goals a day. Your daily core, Read or listen to a manageable section, is the same every day. The other two are new each day: Task 2 builds the habit and Task 3 adds a different angle. Each one comes with a short why.
Time and effort
Most days fit around a normal day, all 3 goals together. Some days are lighter, and nothing needs to happen at a set time.
Difficulty and pace
Gentle. Starts small and builds slowly. Good if you're brand new to this. Milestone badges at 10, 25, 50 and all 100 fully completed days mark how far you came.
Easier alternatives and rest days
Most goals have an easier alternative. “Choose an easier alternative” puts it in its place, and it counts the same as the original goal: the same square, streak and rewards. A rest day protects the streak on days life happens.
Pausing or switching
With another challenge going, you can pause this one any time. Resume later and you pick up on the same day you left. Remove it instead and your history stays: ticks, notes and photos. You always keep at least one challenge going. Up to 3 packs can be active at once, your main challenge included. Active and scheduled packs count; paused, finished and not started ones don't. You can own as many packs as you like and start them later.
What you own
Unlock Read 100 on its own ($9.99 or a free credit) and it's yours forever, to replay any time. All Access opens every pack while you're subscribed. Credits never expire, so use them when you're ready.
Pack guide
How to use task details
The task title names the action. Open its details for the method, examples and any relevant precautions; Why explains the purpose. Save the stated output or record the action you actually took. Paper and other suitable tools are valid alternatives. Do not mark a real-world result complete merely because a planning note was written. Writing tasks can be done in Journal, on paper or anywhere you like. Linking them to Journal is optional.
Focus blocks
For any study or practice task: put your phone in another room or face down, write the one thing you will do, and set a timer for 10 to 25 minutes. When your mind wanders, notice it and come back. Stop when the timer rings and note where you got to.
Earn 4 milestone badges
10, 25, 50 and all 100 fully completed days of Read 100: your first achievement, then bronze, silver and gold. Days finished late count too.
